Hey! Who wants to go streaking with me? OK, not THAT kind of streaking – how about a running streak? Today is May 1st, also known as Day 1 of the BibRave Strava Run Streak! It will be fun, easy to do, and best of all, it’s free! All you have to do is join, then run or walk at least one mile every day in May. That’s it! Here’s how to join in on the fun:
If you are not already on Strava (and why the heck aren’t you?), you can join here for free. You can also upgrade to the premium version (Summit) for a small monthly fee, which gives you access to training programs and more in depth analyses of your activities on Strava.
Next, join the BibRave Run Club and give and get support and encouragement to and from your fellow club members.
Last, follow me and I will return the follow! Just click here to access my Strava profile.
That’s it! You’re officially ready to streak! Be sure to add #BibChat and #StravaRun to your social media posts so we can all follow along!
If you know me at all, you know two things: I am consistently inconsistent about my running, and I love a good challenge! Joining this challenge will keep me accountable and keep me moving every day in May. After all, I have just a few races coming up, including the Byline Bank Chicago Spring Half Marathon on May 19th, the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon on July 21st, the Naperville Sprint Triathlon on August 4th, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 13th, and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K on November 16th & Half Marathon on November 17th!
By the way, the Byline Bank Chicago Spring Half Marathon is almost sold out, with less than 100 spots left. If you plan to register, do it today, and use BRCHISPRING for $10 off of the half marathon or $5 off of the 10K. For the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas series, code 19RNRBRP16 will get you $16 off of the half or full marathon distances, and 19RNRBRP6 will get you $6 off of the 5K/10K distances! And while I’m on the subject of discounts, even though I will be out of town and can’t make the race, you can save 10% off of registration for the June 2nd Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo Run for the Zoo 5K or 10K using code BIBRAVE.
Have you ever done a run streak? What is the longest you have gone? Is anyone running any of the above races with me?

On Sunday, April 28th, I completed the London Marathon as a charity fundraiser for Whizz-Kidz, an organization that provides wheelchairs and mobility devices for children and young adults. If you’d like to contribute to my fundraising efforts, you can still do so by clicking on the link below. Any donation, big or small, will help and is greatly appreciated!

unfortunately I cannot streak with you 🙁 I have done a streak before, I think it was 42 or 46 days. I kind of injured myself and had to stop. As much as I’d love to run a race with you, it could be tricky haha!
Don’t forget we have Chicago in October! I’m really looking forward to meeting you in person! I’ve never done any kind of streak before, so this will be interesting…
I do the RW Winter Run Streak every year (Thanksgiving thru NW Day). I have done a few others at random times, as well. I think they are a great way to stay active by doing minimal work…the key is to make sure the daily runs are not all hardcore training runs. Good luck!!
This will be my first official streak so I am really looking forward to keeping up with it!
I’m also doing the BibRave Run Streak! I love that it can be a run or walk daily. Today I did a 1 mile rountrip walk to grab lunch.
With my crazy work schedule there will definitely be lots of one mile walks during the streak. I’m glad they count!
Well done on the VLM – how are you feeling now? I was there cheering people on and it was lovely that there were three bloggers I follow out there on the course (one I have met in person and managed to spot and attract his attention as he did a 2 hour 50 marathon!). I hope we get a race report with lots of juicy info. No streak for me as I can’t deal with them, but good luck with it!
Thanks, Liz! I did look for your friends’ running shirts but never did spot them. London was an amazing race. I wish we had more time to explore the city, but we did fit a lot in!
Aw, that’s lovely, thank you. So hard to spot people, I missed a few of my own running club folk including a good friend.
Normally I would hop right in w you and the Bibrave crew but I am traveling for almost 3 weeks of May so I won’t be able to track and load accordingly. I will be cheering you on though!
I do have a good amount of travel coming up so I’m hoping to work these walk/runs in!
No. No streaming for me. I need my 3 days of rest.
I know I can’t do big runs every day, but a one mile walk definitely makes this doable!
Congrats on London! I am not a streaker but it’s fun following other people’s streaks. Good luck!
Thanks, Coco! London was phenomenal. If it weren’t so darn expensive to get there I would definitely be looking to do it again!
Congratulations on the London Marathon! That’s huge! What an accomplishment!
I’m not much of a streaker. I can get to about three days before my hips really start grinding. I wish I was better designed for consecutive days and weeks, but it’s just not meant to be ;(
I’m hoping the short runs/walks during this streak will make completing it manageable!
Yahoo on finishing London!!
I am so excited to hear about your streak! I am still unable to run with my knee, but I have done a run streak 1 time in my life! Haha. I need breaks for my hips and other joints!
Have fun!
Well, you’ve done one more run streak than I have!
That’s really cool that Bibrave is doing a challenge. I just finished one that I sponsored and it was really motivating to get in a few extra steps when I really didn’t want to. Good luck with your upcoming racing schedule!
I definitely love the motivation and accountability signing up for the streak has given me!
